PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND USES PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND USES Plascon Aluminox Aluminium paint is a
high lustre paint based on Petroleum
resin. Plascon Aluminox Aluminium Paint
is intended for use on iron or steel
which has been painted with a rust
preventive primer and optionally with
subsequent undercoat. Plascon Aluminox
provides a non-porous and resistant
film which protects the preceding coats
from the destructive effects of the
ultra violet sun rays. The brilliant
finish minimises absorption of solar
heat thus providing an ideal exterior
treatment for petroleum storage tanks
and chimney stacks. Heat resistant upto
a max. temp of 1500C.(for intermittent
use of 1 hour only)
SURFACE PREPARATION The surfaces must be clean and dry free
from rust, millscale, dirt, grease and
oil.
PRIMING
New Iron or Steel
Apply Plascon Zinc Chromate Free Metal
Primer or Plascon Red Lead Free Primer,
having first spot-primed welding seams,
sharp edges and rivet heads. Two
priming coats are desirable for first
class work.
Previously Painted Surfaces
Remove all loose and flaking paint
work, clean off dirt, oil and grease.
Spot-prime bare areas with an
appropriate primer and then apply one
coat Zinc Chromate Free Primer overall.
Undercoating
For most purposes, an undercoat is not
necessary, but when required, use
Plascon Universal High Opacity
Undercoat, followed by one or two coats
Plascon Aluminox Aluminium Paint. Allow
the first coat to dry for 4-8 hours
before applying second coat.
