The High-speed drill or HSS twist drill bit is used for boring into the metal with maximum accuracy. The bit is created for drilling holes in alloyed and non-alloyed steel, cast iron, cast steel, sintered iron, non-ferrous metals, cast iron, and hard plastics. High-speed steel bits are built of carbon steel with a mixture of other components such as chrome and vanadium. This enables them to work at high drilling speeds.
